Overheating is one of the most common compressor failures. Finding the true cause prevents repeated trips and protects the airend.
Check Airflow First
Dirty coolers, blocked vents and high ambient temperature are the usual suspects. Clean the cooler and improve ventilation before looking deeper.
Check Oil and Filters
Low oil level, degraded oil or a clogged oil filter reduce cooling and lubrication, raising temperature.
Check Controls
A failed temperature sensor, stuck thermal valve or worn airend can also drive high temperature. Test components systematically.
If overheating persists, our engineers can help diagnose by reading operating data.
