Low discharge pressure usually means demand exceeds supply or there is a restriction or leak. Work through this checklist to restore full pressure.
Check Demand and Leaks
- Is the air demand higher than the compressor capacity?
- Look for open valves or large leaks in the system.
- Check the pressure settings and load/unload band.
Check the Intake
- A blocked intake filter starves the air end.
- Check the inlet valve opens fully.
- Inspect the air end for internal leakage.
Check the Controls
- Verify the pressure sensor reads correctly.
- Check the minimum pressure valve holds.
- Review VSD settings and maximum speed.
Why does pressure drop at the end of the line?
Pressure drop through dryers, filters and piping reduces pressure at the point of use. Check for restrictions.
