Compressor Loses Pressure Overnight: Diagnosis

If pressure falls overnight with the compressor off, air is escaping through leaks, valves or fittings somewhere in the system.

Where the Air Goes

Leaking joints, open drains, faulty check valves and tool fittings are the usual escape routes for stored air.

Isolating the Leak

Close off sections of the network and watch the pressure gauge to narrow down which branch is losing air.

Fixing It

Repair or replace leaking parts, check the receiver check valve and seal open drains to hold pressure.
